Let It Burn

If your house burns down today, what will be the one item (or person) you will grab on your way out to safety? Who or/and what fulfills us? Most importantly, are we willing to sacrifice ourselves to ensure someone else’s safety? All these questions have been invading my mind in the last few weeks because what I thought mattered most doesn’t anymore.

With Gumption!

The first time I heard this word “gumption,” it intrigued me. I didn’t quite understand what it meant, but I really liked it and I wanted to exemplify it. I wanted to live it and I wanted to be it.

Kate Winslet personified it while playing the role of Iris Simpkins on “The Holiday,” my favorite film of all times.

Where Feet May Fail

About 3 years ago, Kenny asked me the most important question of his life and I gave him the most important answer of mine. Six months later, we got married. the comfort zone

We’ve all been there. The dreadful and the unavoidable: the comfort zone! It’s so easy to keep visiting the zone rather than seeking true comfort where we all know where to find it. The truth is, this “comfort” zone isn’t what it promises, it’s not comfortable! We may escape the reality and the stress that life may bring from time to time by doing activities that are considered “stress free,” but our minds will not find it restful, but restless.

Psalm 22: From My Mother’s Womb…

Originally posted on From Friends:
Lately, I’ve been inspired by the devotionals given at work.  Each week servers at The Grill (a restaurant at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale) are assigned a psalm, and we must come up with a 5 minute or so devotional sharing what God’s been doing in our life.  This was mine…
