This Winter, I Learned to #WriteHopeFWD
Then God gave me an idea… a small idea… a plan of action….
a movement to spread simple acts of kindness…

To be frank, I am at a crossroads.
You probably weren’t expecting to hear this from a conservative Christian and registered Republican, but I sincerely thank you for marching. I thank you for peacefully marching for something you are passionate about.
I thank you for not getting violent and demonstrating to protesters across the nation that it can get done without getting arrested.
I can stand behind some of the issues and I thank you for your courage.
Now to those “on the other side,” please hear my heart before clicking & clacking on your keyboards to inform me how misguided I am…
What beautiful words we sing! With hands raised, with a tear in our eyes we sing “All to Jesus I surrender. All to thee I freely give.” However, those words can change your life for the better or worse…
Above there are two stories about men who made the very decision to surrender or to hold on. Jesus says “follow me”. With no promise of stability or anything specific. Both men were given a choice.
Often times, we are so blinded by our plans, our friends, our families, our small circle that we don’t care to practice hospitality to strangers or unbelievers. We are too concerned about what movie we should rent or what we should have for dinner that we forget there are others who don’t have the luxury of a TV or the opportunity to enjoy a hot dinner, or even worse…they don’t have a place they can call home. And that, my friends, is what the Pope meant. Let us love. Let us heal. Let us forgive. Let us not be obsessed with sin. Let us care for the sinner. Let us be a light in this world!
