day two: third favorite f word is friends

There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother. (Proverbs 18:24 NLT)

Faith, food…and friends! The last time I saw her was at my wedding, and the last time before that…well, lets just say that we’ve had a long distance friendship since 2005, when she left Barry University. When we decided to visit the city, she was the one person I wanted to see. Cassi and I may not really keep in touch, but as soon as you place us in the same room, it doesn’t take too long to catch up right where we left off. In fact, we realized how much in common we have even being so many years apart! Apparently, our spouses also found at least one thing in common…

Today was special not only because of the holiday, but our reunion! We decided to meet at the best cheesecake place in town, Junior’s!

In honor of America, our diet consisted of hot dogs, burgers, reuben sandwiches, chicken, collard greens, and you guessed right…cheesecake!

Junior’s had a feel of a diner, but their cheesecake is probably better than any high end restaurant. Unfortunately, the service was weak and if it wasn’t for their amazing cheesecake, we probably wouldn’t go back.

After lunch, we decided to burn it off by visiting one of the most popular museums here, MoMA, Museum of Modern Art. Our favorite part was the rain room:

Finally, we headed back to their apartment in Brooklyn and had dinner, followed by fireworks overlooking the city…except we made it too late! Maybe next year!

Hope you all had a fantastic 4th!!
